A Research Center worth 4 million USD will commence operations through the cooperation between UBS and Sejong University.

Under the chairmanship of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during the video-selector meeting on priority tasks in the system of engineering personnel training, significant directives were set forth to advance scientific activities in higher education institutions to a new level.

Within the framework of these directives, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the University of Business and Science (UBS) and Sejong University — one of South Korea’s leading higher education institutions.

To implement the plans envisaged in the memorandum, on May 22 of the current year, Prof. Kim Ki Buem, Director of the Nanostructured Materials Research Center at Sejong University, together with Prof. Hong Sung Hwan, paid a visit to UBS.

During the visit, bilateral negotiations aimed at strengthening cooperation were held with the participation of UBS Supervisory Board Chairman Professor Elyorjon Jumayev and Rector Professor Karimjon Boymirzayev.

Notably, at the conclusion of the negotiations, an official agreement was signed between UBS and Sejong University to establish a Research Center equipped with modern technologies, valued at over 4 million USD.

Through this center, UBS professors, researchers, and students will have the opportunity to conduct advanced scientific research in laboratories under Sejong University located in Seoul, implement innovative projects in practice, and integrate into the global scientific community.

Moreover, experimental and testing works on projects conducted in cooperation with the Uzbek Technological Metals Combine JSC will also be carried out by UBS representatives at this center.

It is worth emphasizing that Sejong University is one of South Korea’s foremost universities in the organization of education and scientific research in the engineering field.

This initiative serves as a significant factor in expanding international scientific research cooperation, launching academic exchange programs, and cultivating competitive specialists at UBS who meet international standards.

This partnership establishes a solid foundation that fosters mutual trust, sustainable development, and the consolidation of scientific potential.
